Starting with iOS 26 and macOS Tahoe, Apple Notes can export your notes as Markdown files, including any images and attachments. There are two ways to bring them into Craft:
  • Moving your whole Apple Notes library? Use the import page. It takes the exported folder as a whole, so your images and attachments stay linked to the right notes.
  • Just a few notes? Drag the exported Markdown files straight into Craft. Quicker, but text only.
Either way, you start by exporting from Apple Notes.

Export from Apple Notes

Select the notes you want to export

In Apple Notes, select each note you would like to bring into Craft. You can select multiple notes at once.

Export as Markdown

Go to File > Export As > Markdown to create Markdown files from the selected notes.

Choose an export location

Select where Apple Notes should save the exported folder.
Markdown export requires macOS Tahoe or iOS 26. On earlier versions, Apple Notes has no built-in export. For a few notes, copy and paste them straight into a Craft document. For a large library, updating your Mac is the most reliable path — or convert your notes with the third-party Exporter app from the Mac App Store.

Import Your Whole Library

This is the recommended route when you’re moving everything over, and the only one that brings your images and attachments along. Open docs.craft.do/import/apple-notes in your browser, then drag the whole export folder onto the drop zone — not the Markdown files from inside it. Your images and attachments live next to those files in the folder, so they only make it into Craft if you drop the folder itself.
The drop zone also accepts individual Markdown files, but then your images and attachments are left behind. Drop the whole export folder to bring everything across in one go.

Import a Few Notes Directly

For a handful of notes, you can skip the import page and bring the Markdown files into Craft directly:

Open Craft

Navigate to All Documents or Organize view.

Add the Markdown files

Drag the exported .md files into the document list, or click the Import icon at the bottom of the left sidebar and select the files.
Markdown files on their own don’t carry your images and attachments. To keep them, upload the exported folder on the import page instead.

Troubleshooting

Markdown export requires macOS Tahoe or iOS 26. On earlier versions, copy and paste your notes into Craft, or convert them first with the Exporter app.
Drop the whole export folder on the import page rather than the individual Markdown files — your images and attachments sit alongside those files in the folder, and are left behind if you select the files on their own.
Try starting the import again. If the issue persists, contact support.
