Craft uses an AI credit system so that advanced AI features remain optional and predictable. Credits are consumed when you use cloud-based models. On-device models do not use credits.

Typical usage

Based on testing, 50 credits runs approximately:
  • 1,000 Core model queries
  • 100 Fast model queries
  • 30 Max model queries
These numbers are averages and depend on prompt complexity, document length, and the amount of context processed in each query.

Purchasing additional credits

You can buy additional AI credit packs if you need more than what your plan includes. These are optional, flat-fee purchases that work on top of your existing allowance.

Open Craft on any platform.

Select the Assistant button to open the Assistant panel.

Open the three-dot menu (⋯) in the top corner.

Choose View Credits.

Select Buy Credits.

Pick the credit pack you want to purchase.

Available credit packs

  • 250 credits for $10
  • 1,000 credits for $40
  • 2,500 credits for $100
Purchased credits remain valid for one year. Pricing is shown in USD and VAT may apply.

Checking your balance

You can view your current credit balance and history at any time:

Open the Assistant panel.

Click the three-dot menu at the top.

Select View Credits.
Your current balance, usage history, and purchase options will be displayed.

Credit renewal

Credits renew based on your subscription cycle:
  • Monthly plans: Credits refresh at the start of each billing month
  • Yearly plans: Credits refresh at the start of each billing year
  • Unused credits do not roll over – use them before your renewal date
Credits included in your plan renew on your billing cycle. Purchased credit packs are valid for one year from the date of purchase.

If you want to use AI without consuming Craft credits:
  • On-device models: Available on Mac, iPad, and iPhone – completely free and private
  • MCP and API: Connect your own ChatGPT or Claude subscription to use external AI with Craft content
